Full Moon

Full Moon, December 31, 2009 (11:13am PST)

Not only will this be a full moon, but also a lunar eclipse.  This eclipse is partial, so not darkening the entirety of the Moon’s light, it will be mainly visible in Europe, Africa and Asia, with the greatest eclipse over Gujarat, India.

This Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse occurs in Cancer and it would be wise to avoid travel, if you can.

Cancer is an emotional sign, ruled by the Moon, expect quite an emotional, even teary New Year’s Eve.

Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn, and Mars is also retrograde in Leo, so issues and attractions from the past will demand to be dealt with under this eclipse.  Breakdowns in communication will spark the issue.  Since at the moment of the eclipse, Warrior Mars (action; passion, violence, accidents) is rising exactly on the degree and minute of the ascendant, tightly opposing the Part of Fortune, the chances of a blood-stained celebration are high.

Saturn (karma; sorrows, tradition) tightly opposes Juno, suggesting jealousy and conflict between partners over old issues, particularly where money is involved.  This opposition forms a stressful Grand Cross with the eclipse, squaring avaricious Venus and obstructive Pluto, which are both conjunct the Sun.  Emotions will feel blocked and so the pressure is likely to build to a substantial climax, releasing in violence, accidents and sexual promiscuity.
